How did we get started making calls? Working for a national outdoor retailer in the waterfowl department I was often faced with the challenge of teaching an individual to make the transition to a short reed call from a flute or having never blown a goose call before. I know that there are some calls that come close but there is really nothing that could do it all, especially at a reasonable price. So that began the quest to create a short reed goose call that everyone from a beginner to a novice and even a contest caller could blow.....and we did it. After the advent of the Feather Duster goose call, we then set out to create the perfect duck call.  The task became creating a duck call that would eliminate the need of carrying a single reed and double reed call to bring in ducks in all situations.   The Feather Duster "Hybrid" duck call was created with this goal in mind.  With its ability to get low and raspy but can ring on the high end like a single reed duck call - it's the best of both worlds.
